Calvary's End: 3rd-5th Oct 2025

What does it mean to be a "Hero"?

A philosophical exploration of the value of morality, legality and Virtue. The qualities of cruelty and mercy. The candour of the Imperial State.

This event will feature high-peril, inconsistent combat, and heavy elements of traumatic roleplay. Designed with the intent to promote player agency, this event will enable players to focus on; ethical dilemmas and human scenarios affecting a population that has recently come under Imperial control.

Plot

Arbiter Tiberius - one of a number of governmental bureaucrats that have been stationed in regions across The Barrens - has been tasked with aiding the local area of Calvary's End with post-liberation and restoration efforts. With citizen morale, belief in the Imperial Faith and confidence in governmental bodies at an all time low, he has sought the Imperial Heroes to aid in the process.

Players will be offered the opportunity to immerse themselves in a frontier microcosm of how Big Politics and warfare affects the ordinary population. Whether the territory has been conquered or liberated, it will take generations for the territory to be restored. This game is intended to explore concepts of Morality, Ethics, Inequality, Injustice, Survival, Faith and Humanity in the Empire LRP setting.

Safeguarding

Due to the content of this game the game runners have included several safe-guarding and de-escelation processes for players to be aware of. These include:

  • Mental Health First Aiders on Site

  • Dedicated OC quiet space for players and crew who feel the need during this event to sequester themselves for their own mental well-being.

  • A 'safe word' will be employed, allowing you to excuse yourself or others OC from a situation. Please refer to this as “Billet” or “Billeting”. For example: "John has gone billeting" or "I'm going to billet"

  • Using a hand to shield the eyes without covering them (as if protecting them from the sun), indicates that this individual is experiencing a level of discomfort. One of two things will happen; if in a group setting the individual will attempt to remove themselves from the situation if possible. If this is not possible, or the roleplay is on a one-to-one basis, the roleplay must be de-escalated immediately without question. An OC check-in is encouraged and not considered immersion-breaking.

  • Spontaneity and shock will be a part of the game we are running. It will not always be feasible for an OC check-in before certain roleplay happens. It is every adult’s personal responsibility to ensure their own mental well-being while attending this game. In addition, all players and crew have a duty of care to ensure they are doing their upmost to safeguard others during the run of this event.
