Winds of
Calvary's End

A letter arrives. Whether by post or Winged Messenger, fluttered by doves or pigeons, it does not matter. It is seemingly nothing of note, met with no fanfaire or illuminated edges, the paper feels almost a little damp to the touch. The handwriting is not known to you, but the script is legible enough.

It reads as follows:

From the desk of the District-Intendent Arbiter Tiberius formerly of the Spire of the Waxing Star, Spiral.

The West Barrens Post-Liberation Administration, (SBPA)

Murderdale Regional Offices,

Calvary’s End Branch

Dear Imperial Hero,

I am writing to you as District-Intendent of Calvary's End - an area located in the region of Murderdale in the Barrens. Like many of my colleagues, as of the year 383, I have been tasked with the post-war reconstruction and restoration of one of the individual districts within the region.

While I hear of the efforts of the Empire's armies and the swift eagerness to rebuild from the Senate, I too have been inspired to give my every effort to the task at hand. However, I cannot deny that the citizens of this land have suffered merciless treatment at the hands of the Druj for generations. They have become dispossessed and disenfranchised. While I have made every effort to aid, support and restore the local population's morale, as a member of the elite Anvil community, you surely understand that the scars of the land and its people run deep.

Nonetheless, I have an ambition to fulfil my obligations to my Empire, and in that, I must look to Wisdom and acknowledge a need for assistance from those who possess greater physical, theological and economic presence. I am seeking willing, Virtuous souls who would maintain the strength and capability of the Imperial State.

Being from a different nation, I feel acutely aware of the great losses suffered by the local Dawnish population, and while the experiences possessed by Dawnish heroes would be appreciated, they are by no means required. I understand that Imperial Heroes whom attend Anvil have a vast swathe of experiences and expertise which they will be able to offer.

As such, I would seek to entreat the presence of any noble-spirited citizens who believe they will be able to provide support in this endeavour to come to Calvary's End as soon as they are able. Upon receiving your reply I shall arrange the necessary papers for your arrival - I understand the process may take some time (bureaucracy is never swift, but is a necessity) - and will eagerly await your arrival.

As the stars fade, so too does this correspondence.

Arbiter Tiberius, Calvary's End District-Intendent

Formally of the Spire of the Waxing Star.
